Geography is taught in topics, which last half a term. Children will typically cover two of three areas of geography in a school year.
Educational trips and visitors extend the children's understanding of the themes we teach. We aim to inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
At the end of each topic children produce an extended piece of writing which is published in their Published Work book. This piece of writing draws together what they have learnt throughout the topic with additional research. Our children are proud of their published workbooks and this shows in the quality of their writing.
