MAKE A ROOM MODEL.
WATCH THE CLIP AND MAKE STEP BY STEP NOTES OF WHAT TO DO:
This week's design and technology project involves making a model of your bedroom or a room that you spend the most time in.
The design, make, evaluate process is being used and you are also watching the film clip and writing a list of instructions and following them in a step by step way.
My inspiration for setting you this work is as a result of painting and moving the furniture around in my own dining room and trying to visualise where the best place was for the computer desk, storage cupboards etc. I also changed the colour scheme from a grassy green to a restful light grey. It's amazing what ideas you can come up with , with a little thought and a bit of spare time!
You will need:
a large piece of card.( about 60cm square at least, or you could stick some cereal boxes together or use several pieces of card that are stuck together.)
a glue stick.
Some masking tape.
A protractor( this links with Maths as you need to be able to use a protractor for one of your maths targets.)
Some old food boxes, lego or items that you will be able to use to represent furniture in the room you are making a model of.
While you are making your model and filling it with the items in the room, think about if this is the best place for these items? Would your bed work better away from the window. Could your books be stored in a different area of the room? What works best? How can you make it a more workable space?
Have fun and send me a photo of your models.
