Mental Health and Well-Being
Mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. (World Health Organisation)
At Brookland Junior School we aim to support all members of our school community to ensure that positive mental health is promoted at all times. We have many interventions and groups at school to support pupils including yoga, meditation, nurture and 1:1 well-being check-ins.
In addition to promoting positive mental health and well-being, we aim to recognise and respond to need as it arises. We strive to promote a safe and stable environment for pupils affected both directly, and indirectly by mental health and well-being issues.
