RE

This week’s RE lesson introduces the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats. A Parable is a story including a message and/or life lesson. The point of this lesson is not that doing good things will get people to heaven. The point is, if we truly belong to Jesus, we will show love for others as Jesus shows love for us. This is explained in the Parable using the animals, sheep and goats, to represent humans. The sheep are symbolic of those who follow and obey Jesus Christ, while the goats represent those who chose not to follow Jesus and His example on earth (a witness). Sheep are animals that follow one another, support each other and live closely. However, goats are the opposite. They do their own thing. This week’s activity is to use the PowerPoint to understand the Parable, before completing the attached worksheet, choosing the word that best matches each definition. There is also a colouring page attached… If your child completes this, we would love to see them!
