Redwood

Welcome to the Redwood class page - here, you will find samples of the children's work and pictures to give you a flavour of what we are currently learning about. Year 6, have made a fantastic start to the year and we are really proud of their hard work and determination. We have enjoyed various sports activities including the mini marathon, running at Haileybury Turnford, a dance workshop delivered by Darren and a visit from Steve Frew (Commonwealth Gold medal winner on the men's rings at the 2002 games).

Practical Maths Activities

Here are some pictures of the children carrying out a practical Maths activity for division. We try to ensure that our maths is as practical as possible, in order for the children to understand the process before transferring their skills to written methods and applying these to problem solving activities.

Here are some pictures from our Geography lesson on rivers. We investigated how the erosion and deposition of the river banks can cause a meander. The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and were able to demonstrate their understanding by using talk for learning and using key vocabulary.

Geography-Rivers

Redwood thoroughly enjoyed the Athletes visit which was a sponsored activity to raise money for GB athletes.
