If you put white flowers in coloured water at different temperatures, you could watch their petals to see which flowers change colour the fastest.
The flowers that change colour first have the quickest speed of water transportation, as the stem is transporting the coloured water the fastest.
Use the powerpoint below to gather information on transporting water and then follow the instructions to set up your own experiment to test the rate of water transportation.
Remember to make a prediction of what you think the results will be. Then, think of a fun, creative way of recording your observations and then your final results. This may be done via photographs or through coloured drawing etc. Be sure to email your teacher either a picture of your work or the experiment itself!
