Lesson 3: Faster and Slower

This week’s science learning outcome, is to be able to investigate the effects of friction on different surfaces. In order to meet this, children should be able to explain the force of friction, make a prediction about which surface creates the most friction for a toy car, take measurements and record results in a table and explain the results found. Children should use the PowerPoint to gather information on forces. The PowerPoint gives details of an experiment the children should conduct, using their investigating friction activity sheet, the children should input their prediction, results and conclusion.

Please note, if you are not able to conduct this experiment, please ensure your child watches the Youtube video (the link can be found within the PowerPoint) which shows a similar experiment that tests friction.
