Welcome to Brookland Junior School

Welcome to our school website. Brookland Junior School is a welcoming and nurturing school where the children are at the heart of everything we do. We are passionate about children’s education and thrive to do the best we can for each and every pupil.

At our recent Ofsted (December 2021) inspection, where the school received a GOOD rating, the inspectors commented, 'Brookland Junior School is a happy, nurturing, and welcoming school. Pupils receive a good quality of education. They are charming and lively learners. Brookland is a school where everyone is included.'

We are a large 3-form entry school which caters for children from Year 3 to Year 6 and can have up to 360 children on roll. We are located in Cheshunt, just north of the M25, in Hertfordshire.

We are an inclusive school with staff that care passionately about the children we teach. We are a school where all stakeholders are passionate about our children achieving whatever they want to do.

We are proud of our broad and balanced curriculum and our school values that help us to be our Brookland Best: 'Be Kind' 'Be Respectful' and 'Be the Best that you can be'.

We provide a creative curriculum approach to learning with great emphasis placed on valuing and developing the whole child. Children at Brookland are offered specialist music lessons and a range of exciting enrichment and extracurricular opportunities. We also offer wraparound before and after school care with our sunrise and sunset club. Outside, there is a large playing field, 2 playgrounds, a sports MUGA, trim trail and a playground gym. We are currently improving our outdoor provision with the help of OPAL.

Brookland is a happy school where everyone is made to feel welcome, and we are fortunate to have a fantastic team of dedicated staff, supportive parents/carers and governors, as well as being an integral part of the local community. 

As a GOLD Awarded UNICEF Rights Respecting School, children are at the centre of all that we do. We offer a vast range of opportunities, whether that be academic, artistic, sporting or pastoral. The well-being of our children is paramount to the work that we do!
